Sweets on Valentines

Today is Valentine's Day.

There are sweets ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE.

I understand this.

New Favorite

I was in my car the other day when I heard a song.

A beautiful song.

One with words that spoke to me.
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up
And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find
'Cause even the stars they burn
Some even fall to the earth
We've got a lot to learn
God knows we're worth it
No, I won't give up
I don't wanna be someone who walks away so easily
I'm here to stay and make the difference that I can make
Our differences they do a lot to teach us how to use
The tools and gifts we got yeah, we got a lot at stake
And in the end, you're still my friend at least we did intend
For us to work we didn't break, we didn't burn
We had to learn how to bend without the world caving in
I had to learn what I've got, and what I'm not
And who I am
This song really got to me.

I ended up crying in my car because it spoke to my heart.

Thank you Jason Mraz for this beautiful song.

Keeping the family tight

Last weekend, the kids and I went up to my sister's house.

Why?

Because she wanted to help me color my hair. I normally do it on my own on a Friday or Saturday night. Woo-hoo! Fun times here at my house, eh?

Not only did I get my hair done. We helped my niece pick up her stock of Girl Scout cookies. Oh yeah! It's COOKIE season! I picked up some face cleanser stuff at the mall. We helped my niece pick out an outfit for an art showing/auction where a few of her pieces were being displayed/auctioned. AND I had some heart-to-heart time with my sister & BIL.

And tomorrow? We'll be headed up to my sister's house again. Everyone will be there. Yes. We're going to be watching some football. Yes. We'll be eating a lot of food. It's going to be a potluck. With about 20 people attending, it had better be a potluck!

We'll probably play some Superbowl games. You know, what team will score the first touchdown. Who will have the first penalty. Who'll be ahead at the half. Typical stuff to keep things interesting.

It'll be a time for catching up. A time for games. A time to eat some grub. A time to make new wonderful memories together. I love my family and totally enjoy hanging out with them!
