Kiss & Hug

My Dad and I made up.

Yeah. Yeah. When I dropped the kids off at my folks' house, we had a small chat and made up.

The two of us are too much alike. Our personalities are the same. We both react to things pretty much identically.

So our argument was a flash-bang. We said quick and dirty harsh words without thought. BAD. IDEA.

But we've made up lickety-split. No worries. Water under the bridge.

Thankfully it's not some long drawn out issue that we aren't addressing.

Whew! I'm relieved!

This is how rifts can start

My Dad and I got into an argument this morning.


So this morning my Dad says "could you sit down so I can talk to you about something." Okay. Fine. I'm just dropping the kids off so I can go to work. Um....NOT the best time to talk to me about stuff. I'm already on a tight schedule.

There I was listening to him. Wondering what the heck he wants to talk to me about.

What he told me? Had NOTHING to do with him. My Mom was concerned about "something" and mentioned it to my Dad. So my Dad takes it upon himself to talk about it with me. Why? I don't know.

It wasn't what the concern was that bothered me. It was HOW he was saying things to me. He was being judgmental. He was being short. I didn't appreciate it one bit. And I was NOT going to take it. Not on a Monday morning.

Swimsuit season is almost upon us.

Right now where we live, it's still a little cool to spend some time next to the pool.

Where we're moving to in a few weeks, it's well over 100 degrees. EEK!

Yes, I'm trying to get into a groove.

I'm trying to run at least 3 times a week. And it's between 2-3 miles each time.
